Fancy House Road

Materials:
Silk Fabric (you could use ties, blouses, scarfs…)
Eggs
White sheets (or a pillow case)
Twist Ties (or rubber bands)
Scissors
Water
1/4 Cup Vinegar
Large Pot
Cut silk into pieces that are large enough to cover the entire egg.
Wrap eggs tightly in silk (with the printed side facing the egg). You want the fabric to make good contact with the egg but it will still work even if it doesn’t fit perfectly around the egg.
Fasten silk around egg with a twist tie.
Next, cut your white sheet (or pillow case) into pieces that are large enough to cover the entire egg.
Wrap eggs tightly in the white sheet and fasten with a twist tie.
Place eggs in a large pot and cover them with water. Then add vinegar.
Bring pot to a boil and then reduce to a simmer.
Allow eggs to simmer for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes remove the eggs from the large pot and allow them to cool.
Once they are cool, remove the fabric!

Real Simple

BLUE: 1 pound frozen blueberries (about 3-1/2 cups) + 2 cup water.
On the stovetop, bring frozen blueberries and water to a boil in a pot. Boil 5 minutes. Pour colored liquid into a cup or bowl, straining out the blueberries with a strainer. Stir in 1 Tablespoon lemon juice.

YELLOW: 2 Tablespoons turmeric + 2 cups water.
On the stovetop, bring turmeric and water to a boil in a pot. Boil 5 minutes. Pour colored liquid into a cup or bowl. Stir in 1 Tablespoon vinegar.

GREEN: In a bowl or cup, mix one part blue liquid with one part yellow liquid.

ORANGE: 2 Tablespoons paprika + 2 cups water.
On the stovetop, bring paprika and water to a boil in a pot. Boil 5 minutes. Pour colored liquid into a cup or bowl. Stir in 1 Tablespoon vinegar.

PINK: 12 ounces frozen raspberries (about 3-1/2 cups) + 2 cups water.
On the stovetop, bring frozen raspberries and water to a boil in a pot. Boil 5 minutes. Pour colored liquid into a cup or bowl, straining out the raspberries with a strainer. Stir in 1 Tablespoon lemon juice.

BROWN: 1/4 cup instant coffee granules + 2 cups boiling water.
In a cup or bowl, stir coffee granules and boiling water together. Add 1 Tablespoon vinegar.

For darker colors, use the dye when it’s hot. Plan on leaving your eggs in their dye for 15-30 minutes for maximum color. The natural colors will deepen overnight. The natural dyes can flavor boiled eggs, so I don’t recommend eating these colored eggs.

Halloween Decor

I do not love the colors of Halloween and for that reason resist Halloween decorations. But here are some looks I could get behind.
