Water For Elephants and A Long Way Gone

This was a really fun book to read, but because of some odd and slightly inappropriate content (circus side show stuff) I can't freely recommend it.  I did love the characters and the story though.  Sara Gruen is a charming storyteller.

"I want to make her melt into me, like butter on toast.  I want to absorb her and walk around for the rest of my days with her encased in my skin." Page 273

I also finished A Long Way Gone this week (on cd).  Disturbing and interesting but not particularly well written.  If one is unaware of what is going on with children in war, this is an important topic, but I'm not sure this story was the most compelling source.
