A year of dates

When we got married, a dear friend gave us a cute scrapbook with a page for each of the following date ideas (one per weekend for a year). Here is the list (colored ones we have actually done).

Take a picture with Santa

Make gingerbread houses

Pick out something nice for your house

Have a snowball fight, build snow forts or snowmen, have a sculpture contest with another couple

Laugh like a kid again at the latest g or pg movie

Go ice skating

Walk around downtown and take crazy pictures of each other

Do pottery together

Visit a museum

Take a trip to nowhere

Spend the day test driving cars

Spend the day viewing model homes

Take a class together

Participate in an aerobics or spinning class

Get decked out - even if you're just going to the local diner

Play board games (at home or in the park)

Bake and decorate cut-out cookies. Give them to the newest family in the ward

Build a sandcastle

Try brunch and a matinee

Go to a card store and read greeting cards. Show each other the ones you would give

Browse in a used book store

Give in the romantic allure of watching the sun go down

Go to the library and browse for books. Pick a book to read together and get two copies

Take a look at specific dates and events in our journals and see what the other person was doing at the time

Make it a blockbuster night and create your own movie

Decorate Easter eggs

Go to a play

Assist an elderly couple with yard work

Spend the day window shopping

Go to the temple

Pull an all-nighter and check into a high-end hotel

Play tennis

Pack a pair of rods and reels and go on a fishing expedition

Go to the genealogy library. Try to look up your family name

Go to a park and swing on the swings or slide on the slide

Relive your first date

Rent a rowboat for a DIY sunset cruise and dinner

Look thru maps and travel pictorials and plan a trip together

Fly kites together

Go on a bike ride

Go to garage sales - see who can spend the least money or get the best bargain

Have a gourmet picnic

Create your own "drive-in" experience with a laptop and the local park

Ride bikes or roller blade

Go for an all-day hike

Go camping overnight

Read joke books to one another and see who can make the other laugh first

Paint a picture on canvas

Go our for ice cream

Baby-sit for a couple who can't afford child care and who are long overdue for a date night

Go to a basketball game

Carve pumpkins

Go to breakfast in your P.J.'s

Go to an arcade

Visit the batting cages

Take a dance class together

Assemble a jig-saw puzzle together
