Lovely Bones

Not loving the book, but loved this moment when the wife and mother, who had left her family for several years, comes back and is with her husband on a hospital bed.

"I realized how much I wished I could be where my mother was. His love for my mother wasn't about looking back and loving something that would never change. It was about loving my mother for everything - for her brokenness and her fleeing. For her being right there in that moment before the sun rose. It was about touching that hair with the side of his finger and knowing the depth of her ocean eyes"

I read that book in Middle School. I didn't like it much; I mean, I like the premsie, with the girl watching her family from Heaven, but it was kinda creepy, especially when she talks about how she died. I love the quote you posted!
I'm reading "Cath-22." Kinda boring cuz there seems to be no storyline, but I like it! It's nice to escape into a non-plot, crazily-written story. :)
