I'm thankful for
- The delayed setting of the sun
- My fireplace for the inevitable chill after it does set
- National Poetry Month!
- A whole gallon of milk with endless possibilities after a week without
- Finding a book I wanted to read on my ipod
- Coming home to our new space

Today
I am thankful for my grandmother's advice to her daughter to buy a new car when the daughter thought there was no possible way to afford it. Four small kids, one in school, and no car at home. I'm thankful for the same advice getting passed down a new generation daughter thinking there is no possible way she can afford the next steps in life.

Today
I am thankful for

- a hot bowl of berries and oatmeal
- Beyonce getting me through the hardest part of a run
- the intense motivation of our "couple goal chart" - if one person slacks, no one gets the credit
- the scale slipping to lower numbers
- cutesy stickers of letters - is it possible to write everything with stickers - that would be fun
- being a little under the weather - good excuse to skip hip-hop (it's getting really hard) and curl up in bed by 6:00

Today
I'm thankful for
Friends who give you a moment's glimpse of how okay, even great, you really are as a person
Tights
Having rays of sunlight during my drive to work
BYU memories delivered by way of devotionals and old friends
Mothers who read their children's board-books during church, even though the kids aren't even sitting near them
A husband who is willing to get himself in trouble in order to make me feel like I haven't lost my passion for life
Waking up in the middle of the night to find Mike sleeping with his hand on the small of my back

I'm thankful
Today I am Thankful For

IB students that come in after school and tell me how much they enjoyed an assignment
Phone messages from my husband
Seeing the miles on the treadmill increase (even if it is a very slow increase at times)
Toast
Going to bed early
The blinds opened just a crack by Mike to let enough light in for my plant to grow during the day - I never think of things like light, which makes it no wonder I have yet to have a plant survive for more than one year

Simply Thankful

Today, while sitting in Young Womens, I was reading some old letters from Mike that were stuffed in my scriptures and I kept thinking about how thankful I was to have these notes. Through the next few hours at church all I could think about was remembering all the good things. And then I became obsessed with deciding whether I was noticing all the good things. So, in an act of noticing and remembering, I am going to try to note five things I am thankful for at least twice a week.
Today:
1. Kids that sing the hymns really loud in the pew behind us.
2. Putting pajama bottoms on at 4 in the afternoon.
3. Strawberry cream cheese french toast.
4. Mike encouraging me to pursue my photography.
5. When people giving lessons and talks connect things to their lives.
