The Night Circus
I love jumping inside the head of someone with a gorgeous and endless imagination and that is how I felt reading this book. What a wonderful internal life the author must have. I feel like creativity in writing can be hard to come by, but Erin Morgenstern has it in spades. She creates a wealth of different characters and a setting that includes a circus with a variety of tents that have some lovely feature. My favorite tent was the one in which you pick up a rock on your way in and then inside there is an endless body of water by which you sit as your rock gets heavier and you remember all your past joys and pains until you drop it in the water and you feel lighter than when you entered. The story telling/plot was good. Not great but strong.
